Me & Jeremy
May Day, May Day

When I first saw Me & Jeremy, it was at a free concert at the Empire State Plaza, where they totally amazed me to the point where I bought their CD and then couldn't stand the last act, Sprung Monkey (ok, maybe SM sucked enough on their own that Me & Jeremy didn't have anything to do with it, but that's a different matter).Ê Their music is very sweet and sentimental, but not to a fault, its just enough that you kinda want to toss your head from side to side when listening to it.Ê They're really poppy and very danceable, but somehow still have an emo tinge that blends in very well and keeps it interesting.Ê Another nice thing about them is that the first time you hear it, you like it, and as you listen to it more, it grows on you.Ê Within their niche, they cover a lot of territory, including the almost ska-ish "Geneva In My Kitchen", the amazing total indierock "Josie's House", complete with poetic spoken word parts, to the almost sea-shanty-like "Mr. C's Pinetrees" and, well, you get the point.Ê They play a wide range while staying unified.Ê Trust me, buy this album.Ê But first, go to one of their shows (they're local).Ê In fact, you have to go to one of their shows to get an album, so ha!Ê And show some spirit while you're there, too.
