Big Orange Crayonmusical thingsPoster Children © Home Produced If you know me, you know that I will never dis a Poster Children record. The reason is simple: they are the best band in the universe, so there is no reason to. I even bought this one right from Rose at their show in Albany, so I really love it. Now, normally I'm wary of b-side/rarity/unreleased song compilations since there is usually a reason why songs don't get released. These ones were, but are impossible to find, so this is a superwonderful thing. And the case looks really cool. There are a lot of cool songs on this. "Isis" is a cover of a Bob Dylan song and "Down in the Desert" is a cover of a Thin White Rope song, and the rest are all Poster Children songs (I think). All of the songs have the "Poster Children feel" that Joe could probably put into numbers and symbols, but I think of as punk-ish/pixies-ey/energetic music that is listened to by cool people and nerds. I'm so happy that they included "Roe vs. Wade" on here since I was about to buy the compilation it was originally on just for that one song (the original was a major-label compilation deal where bands like the Pkids were on the same disc as Madonna). Normally, these types of things are "just for the hardest fans" or whatever, but anyone who doesn't suck will like this. So buy it. You can get it at their shows, or if you can't make it to one (or they don't come near you) you can go to their website and order one. Total score: 2345 out of 2345 |
