Big Orange Crayonmusical thingsPoster Children New World Record SpinArt Records Poster Children rule. I've been a fan for a long time and have dutifully tried to buy everything that they've ever put out. I even pre-ordered this CD so I could get it as soon as possible. Because of all of this, there is pretty much no way that I would ever give them a bad review, and fortunately there is absolutely no reason to do so for this album. I didn't really like RTFM too much because I don't think it had as much energy as their other albums, but the energy has definitely returned to them. Maybe its because they were finally able to leave Reprise and go back to an indie label, maybe it was that they were feeling better when they made it, or something else. Anyway, this album rocks. I have heard it compared to Daisychain Reaction in lots of other reviews, but I kinda think its more like Tool of the Man. Very vital with that old school Poster Children feel (compare 6x6 and Planet Earth to Dynamite Chair and Blatant Dis off of ToTM to see what I mean). I love it. There really isn't much more to say. Oh yeah, they're geniuses too: there is a enhanced CD portion that Rose (the bass player) did thats really cool: a few videos, some screen savers and a silly game. And oh yeah, again. I forgot to describe what it sounds like. Um, kinda like the Pixies if they stayed together and evolved with a bit of a poppier tinge, and some spoken word bits and other various experimentations. Its neat. Total score: 24059 out of 24059 |
